Camas Valley's baseball season got off to a challenging start Monday afternoon, falling 4-1 to visiting Oakridge in their league opener at home. The Miners managed just one run against Oakridge pitching in what proved to be a tough introduction to conference play.

Despite the final score, Camas Valley showed flashes of potential in their first game of the season. The team battled throughout nine innings but couldn't generate enough offensive momentum to keep pace with the visiting Eagles.

The loss puts the Miners at 0-1 overall and 0-1 in conference standings as they begin their campaign. With league play now underway, every game carries additional weight in the standings race.

Camas Valley will look to bounce back and even their record when they return to action. The early season provides plenty of opportunities for the Miners to find their rhythm both at the plate and on the mound. Coach and players alike will use this opener as a learning experience moving forward into what promises to be a competitive conference schedule.
