Chemeketa brought a powerful offensive attack to Douglas County on Friday, overwhelming the UCC Riverhawks 8-1 in a conference softball matchup that never found the home team's rhythm.

The Storm jumped ahead early with two runs in the first inning and never looked back, adding runs in four different frames to control the game from start to finish. Zoe Moore led Chemeketa's 13-hit assault, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs, while teammate Meagan Trissell matched that RBI total on her own 2-for-4 performance.

For the Riverhawks, the offense managed just four hits against Chemeketa pitcher Addison Bennett, who earned the complete-game victory with seven strikeouts. UCC's lone run came in the opening inning when Lexie Gidcumb crossed home plate, driven in by catcher Gracie Mello's timely hit.

Jordan McArthur and Amanda Lloyd each contributed singles for the Riverhawks, while Camden Kappa added a pinch-hit single in relief duty. On the mound, Kasey Ogan battled through 6.2 innings for UCC, striking out six batters but unable to contain the Storm's consistent offensive pressure.

The loss drops the Riverhawks to 5-12 overall as they continue working through a challenging conference schedule. UCC will look to bounce back in their next outing, needing to find more offensive consistency to compete with the top teams in league play.
